Why isn't the subtitle area scrolling along with the video?

Auto-scroll is off by default. You can turn it on in Settings.

1. Open the ShadowEcho extension panel on a YouTube page
2. Click the gear icon to open Settings
3. Find "Auto-scroll subtitles" and toggle it ON

My microphone isn't being recorded, or it's using the wrong device.

Two things matter here: browser permission, and which audio input device is selected. If you have multiple inputs (built-in mic, USB mic, Bluetooth headset, etc.), the browser or extension may default to the wrong one.

1. Open chrome://settings/content/microphone and make sure youtube.com is set to "Allow"
2. Open ShadowEcho's recording settings and pick the input device you actually want to use (e.g. external USB mic vs. built-in laptop mic)
3. Reload the YouTube tab and try recording again

Note: If you plugged in a mic after the page was already loaded, the browser may not detect it until you reload the YouTube tab.
